Susannah’s work is an act of catharsis—an instinctual release, unburdened by premeditation. Each piece begins without a plan, a ritualistic transference of internal chaos onto the physical world. Some compositions emerge soft and fluid, others rigid and unyielding. The process is gestural, a form of therapy where form and emotion coalesce.
With a background in fiber arts, a field of precision and discipline, Susannah spent years refining a practice that left little room for spontaneity. Having exhibited and sold fiber-based works worldwide, the need for creative release led to a shift—an embrace of the unstructured, the intuitive, the unrestrained. In this practice, thought dissolves, and only the act of creating remains.
